Idar Obersttein Banded Carnelian beads. These beads were traded into Africa from the 1600's into the 1700's. Each strand is a little different. There may be chips or even broken beads, worn smooth from years of use. Some lines have quite dark stones, while others may have one or more beads replaced with Bohemian glass beads in red, yellow or other beads. |
