Ghaus (Gaus or Gaos) ~
A Gau is a Buddhist prayer boxes from Nepal. Each Ghau comes in a brocade pouch.
Clamshell style Ghaus are hinged on the top and open from the bottom.
Fitted back Gau Styles have a friction-fit back which can be pried open with your fingernails. Traditional style Gaos are ostensibly friction fit, but usually tied with string to keep the two sides together. (As you can see from this one example, there is no clear concensus on the English spelling of Tibetan words.)
